I just read this book to my kids and they loved it. I am very pleased with the story. Dexter is a cute little guy
This book contains the absolute cutest caterpillar you will ever encounter EVER. The moment you see it, your heart will melt and you will be a floor puddle.
With that said, the author is also a very sweet woman. A heart of gold. Buy it! A great way to teach your kids about self control.
My kids (3 & 5) absolutely love this book! The funny (and well written) prose is written in large letters to young readers to read on their own, and it is engaging enough to keep youngest dinosaur's attention.
Not only can they relate to mischievous little Dex, but it also shows that sometimes what is fun for them, can hurt other things too. Fun can be worthwhile - without being destructive. And if you see the negative consequences of your actions... do something to try and make it right again.
From what I've read of the Stan Lee Kids Universe publications, I'm extremely impressed with the quality and carries the wit and humor Stan Lee is known for. This book only slightly edges out Once Upon A Time There Was A Pig as our bookshelf favorite.
Highly recommended to all parents and kids at heart.
"That is a good one." That's a direct quote from my almost 3 year-old daughter. 10 minutes later, she asked to read it again.
Dex is destructive. He likes to break things, kick things, and pretty much just be mischievous. When he hurts a poor little caterpillar, he looks back at what he has done. He doesn't feel good about it at all, and he vows to change his ways.
I like the illustrations. They are simple, crisp, and adorable. The story is a good one, if not a little silly. You can't just tape a stick back together. I wish it would have taught kids that some things can't be fixed, but you can change your ways and make things better in the future. Still, my daughter loved the book. It would be good to read to a group of early preschoolers and then talk about consequences and feelings.

Dex T-Rex really was a mischievous little dinosaur. Never wondering about what he was doing so long as it was fun. Until the day he goes a bit too far and realizes what his carelessness has caused. What dd Dex do? How does he feel when he realizes what he has done?
Follow Dex's story with your own young reader and help them realizes that our actions have consequences. I really loved sharing this with my four year old nephew. Get a copy to share with your old young reader. They will find the rhyming verse easy to hold there attention as the colorful illustrations hold their eyes to pages.
I don't usually read a lot of picture books, but when I saw 'Dex T-Rex The Mischievous Little Dinosaur' and that it was being published by Stan Lee's Kids Universe, I just couldn't resist. The bright cover and great dino design by Katya Bowser drew me right in.
Dex is indeed a mischievous T-Rex. He wanders around destroying things for fun. He hasn't a care in the world leaving destruction in his wake, until, one day, his destruction has a consequence. Will Dex change his ways? Can he repair the damage he's already caused?
It's a bright, simply illustrated story. Dex is a pretty adorable design. The story is fun, and teaches a lesson about actions and consequences, although subtly and gently. It's the kind of thing rambunctious and, perhaps, mischievous toddlers might want read to them over and over again. Katya Bowser has created a winsome and funny character.
